Exeter Confirm no New PFA Loan Required

In some good news from the Club, they have confirmed that they will not be returning to the PFA for a new loan, as had been anticipated. Exeter City have released the following statement:-

The club is pleased to report that, due to a variety of reasons, the need to secure a loan fans_sjp_old_grandstand_featfrom the PFA to assist cash-flow over the short term will now not be necessary.

Whilst there are numerous contributing factors, including internal and external initiatives from both club and Trust, the main aspects that facilitated the required savings were those made from senior staff positions being vacated and not replaced, improved gate takings from attendance (although this has, despite excellent recent form, fallen back) and finally the revenue secured from the recent FA Cup television appearance.

Thanks must go to all involved across the whole club.

And everyone involved in Exeter City would like to thank all of our fans for your support throughout the year.  We look forward to welcoming you to our final home game of 2014 when we welcome back former Grecians Paul Buckle and Rob Edwards to St James Park on Boxing Day, along with their Cheltenham Town squad.  Tickets are now on sale – click here for more information.

This will be welcome news for Exeter City supporters, and follows on from the success of the supporter sponsorship for the Burton Albion match. Attendances at St James Park remain a concern, with a 1117 drop from the Luton Town game to the Carlisle United game. The average of home only fans is now 3152. More information on attendances can be found here.
