Matt Jay and Ollie Watkins Loaned to Weston-Super-Mare

Young Exeter prospects and two of City’s future forwards have been loaned to Conference South side Weston-Super-Mare. Matt Jay and Ollie Watkins will be on loan until after tweston-super-mare_exeterhe Sutton United game on Sunday 4th January. Weston-Super-Mare have a busy schedule which could mean the two players featuring in up to eight games, including the two local derby games with Bath City. Both the youngsters played in the pre-season friendly at Woodspring Stadium.

Ollie Watkins is the Club’s One Game One Community Ambassador, and made his debut against Wycombe Wanderers in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy last season. His scored his first senior goal in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie away to Coventry in October.matt_jay

Matt Jay has featured 5 times for the Grecians in competitive games, making his debut last season at Hartlepool on the last day of the season.

They will have two games against Farnborough Town, for which Exeter City’s Aaron Dawson is on loan.

Seagulls caretaker manager Ryan Northmore said of the loans:-M

I am pleased to bring Ollie and Matt into the club. We have a very busy fixture schedule and we need the new recruits so I have more options and I am able to freshen up the team at the right time.

Weston-Super-Mare are currently bottom of the Conference South.
