Warrington Get Commemorative Shirt Ahead of Exeter TV Game

The visit of Exeter City to Cantilever Park on Friday (7th November) in a historic FA Cup for ‘The Wire’ has meant an updated home shirt for the team. Made by SKkits it has been embroidered along with Warrington’s crest  “FA Cup 1st Round v Exeter City 7-11-14“. warrington_town_shirts_pic

This will be Warrington Town’s first time in the first round proper of the FA Cup, and the town has been given the added boost by getting live TV coverage from the BBC. Warrington are reporting that they have sold the full allocation of tickets, and did so in just 3 hours. Exeter City’s allocation of 375 tickets is also selling well. Warrington, also know as the ‘Yellows’ are hoping to increase the capacity of the ground, temporarily from the current limit of 2500. The visit of the TV cameras will mean that each club will get £67,500 in a broadcast fee, though the real prize will be the £18,ooo for winning the tie and progress to the 2nd round.

Yellows Chairman Toby Macormac said:-

The demand for tickets has been unprecedented and we are predicting a sell out crowd. The game is a real David v Goliath and typifies the magic of the FA Cup.warrington_town_shirts_thumb

It will put football well and truly on the map in Warrington and give us something to build on for the future.

Kick off will be at 7.55pm.
