Wales Call Up Two Exeter Players into U16 Squad

Two players from Exeter thriving Academy have been called up by Wales for their Under 16 squad. Max Smallcombe and Ethan Ampadu have been included in the  squad for the friendly international against France this week.

Max stepped up to the under-16 level at the Academy this season, while Ethan has just entered the under-14 age-group at the Cat & Fiddle, and will be playing with and against players up to 21 months cat_and_fiddleolder than him.

The news follows hot on the heels of the recent England Under-20 call-up for Matt Grimes and Christy Pym, who also came through the ranks at the Academy.

Wales Under-16s will play two fixtures against France Under-16s, on Tuesday 23rd September (7pm) and Thursday 25th September (6pm).  Both games will take place at the FAW’s National Football Development Centre at Dragon Park, Newport.
