FA Cup 2014/15: Prospects for the Devon Teams
FA Cup is upon us again this weekend. The Preliminary round with 160 ties being played tonight, Saturday and Sunday.
Not much in the way of ties for Devon teams. 1 tie will be an all Devon affair at Ladysmead where Tiverton Town take on Plymouth Parkway, who’d dumped Buckland Athletic out of the cup with a 4-1 
scoreline in the extra-preliminary round. Willand Rovers will travel to Bath to take on Odd Down. Odd Down beat Torpoint 4-2 away in the last round, Willand progressed with a 3-1 at home to Radstock.
The winners of the Tiverton Town v Plymouth Parkway tie will be at home to Bideford AFC in the first qualifying round. The reward for the winners of the Odd Down v Willand Rovers tie will be a home tie against Shepton Mallett or Saltash.
All of the above mentioned Saturday’s ties kick off at 3pm.
One outstanding tie from the extra-preliminary will also be played on Saturday. The original game between Hartley Wintney and Frimley Green was abandoned at half time after an incident in the 
changing rooms. That event is still under investigation by the FA. Frimley Green were leading 2-1 when the tie was abandoned. Winners of this game will be away to Ardley United
Winners of their Preliminary ties, will receive £1,925 in prize money from the FA. The next round (first preliminary) will be played on the weekend of 13th September.
