O’Flynn explained his delight about his return to the Cork City website: –

I’m delighted to be back, it’s like the good old days. The lads are flying and there is a good buzz around the place.

I’ve trained for the last few days and I have been really impressed with the standard; some of the young lads have great quality. It’s a big game Sunday, so we need to try and kick on. The lads have done really well all season, so hopefully I can play a part in a good season.

Commenting on the signing, City manager John Caulfield said:-

It’s brilliant to bring John in. Obviously we know him well from his last spell at the club, where he won a league title and an FAI Cup. He’s been in England for the last six years and about a month ago he tisdale_Oflynnexpressed an interest in coming back.

It’s given everyone a lift. The squad can see that we are bringing in another top quality player and that shows our intentions. He has the right attitude to come into our set-up, and he has fitted into the group straight away.
