Croatia didn’t get any. If that’s a penalty, we don’t need to play football anymore. Let’s play basketball instead. It’s a shame.

Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari unsurprisingly had the opposite view:-

Millions didn’t see the penalty? The referee did and he said it was a penalty and they are the ones that must decide.

We also think it was a penalty. I have seen it 10 times and I think it is a penalty.

There remain concerns that the pitch in Manaus is not playable. England take on Italy at the stadium on Saturday evening. The ground staff have sprayed the pitch green to hide some of the problems. The global players’ union FIFPro said in a statement:-

The players deserve a quality playing surface. This isn’t the case in Manaus.

Nobody wants to see the players and the spectacle in general suffer.
