Scunthorpe Part Company with Brian Laws

Scunthorpe United parted company with manager Brian Laws after a run of poor performances and early exits from all 3 cup glanford_park3competitions. Last night’s defeat at home to non-league rivals Grimsby Town appears to have been the last straw. Russ Wilcox and Tony Daws have been put in temporary charge.

Scunthorpe haven’t won in 5 recent games, but are sitting in 12th place. Peter Swann has explained his decision saying he felt the time is right as it would give a new manager the chance to get the best out of a squad and that there had been a ‘question mark’ on the Iron’s performances since their opening day of the season victory over Mansfield Town. Recent home defeats include a 4-0 reverse to Exeter City.
