Anton Rodgers, aged 20, has signed to the end of the season on loan for Exeter City. His parent club Brighton & Hove Albion

The 20-year-old midfielder, who began his youth career with Chelsea, joins the Grecians until the end of the season on a Youth Loan.

Brighton’s Development squad manager, Luke Williams, talking to Brighton’s official site,  praised the young midfielder’s football nous before the player embarks on his loan move:-

He wants to go and prove himself to the club and also to himself. As a player I am a massive fan as I work with him day in day out and see his quality. He understands football and how to create space for his teammates, he knows how to be unselfish and he understands how to break teams down and when to press.  Tactically he understands football because of the upbringing he has had with his dad and the 24 hour hours a day football, which has clearly rubbed off on him.

The Anton Republic of Ireland up to under-19, has featured regularly for the Seagulls’ under-21 side this season in the Professional Development League. He has made one senior appearance for Albion, in last season’s FA Cup 3rd round game at the Amex against Wrexham. Coming on as a 63rd minute substitute.

Anton will have the number 26 on his back.
