In what could be a huge blow to Exeter City’s promotion chances, Alan Gow has been ruled out for 3 to 4 weeks due to an ankle injury.

Speculation has been growing on the forums and social media for a couple of days that Gow took a knock in a friendly earlier this week. And with today’s team selection facing Morecambe announced, Exeweb can now confirm that Alan picked up his injury when the Grecians took a 22 man squad to Reading on Tuesday. This match also saw Myles Anderson sustain a cut to the knee that required 22 stitches. Exeter City won the game 2-1 through a Reid goal and an own goal.

With Alan Gow now out injured, it’ll be time for Guillem Bauza to step up to the mark, along with recent signing Mark Molesley. A growing injury list now troubles Exeter City, with Gow and Anderson joining John O’Flynn, Matt Oakley and Liam Sercombe in the treatment room.
