Jake Gosling’s 2 month loan with Dorchester Town has come to an end. He made his last appearance for the Magpies on Saturday in their 2-2 draw with Hayes & Yeading. He teamed up with ex-City players Jason Matthews, Ben Watson and Richard Logan. Plus City youth coach Arran Pugh and for a spell Exeter loanee Jamie Reid.

His time at Dorchester Town will be best remembered for the televised game against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup. His was the goal that allowed Dorchester to dump the league outfit out of the FA Cup in a 1-0 win at The Avenue Stadium

Manager, Phil Simkin told the Dorset Echo

Jake has been tremendous for us and we’ll always be grateful to him and Exeter, and I’d like to think he has gone back to his parent club a better player than he was when he left them.  He will always go down in history as the guy who scored the goal that put Plymouth out of the FA Cup. I’ve never played or managed in the Football League but all I know is that he has been a very good player for us and I’ve watched him improve game by game.  I’m disappointed to lose him but he did a great job for us.
