FA Cup 2012/13: Q3R Brings Clubs Closer to the League Teams

Another FA Cup weekend is upon us. 40 ties to be played on Saturday 6th October and Sunday 7th. 40 of those teams will probably be looking for one of the ex-League teams that are in the Conference. Plus of course we’re getting that much closer to the 1st round proper and 46 league clubs entering the draw.

Some names from the past. Chester entertain FC Halifax. Bradford Park Avenue are away to Carlton Town (Nottingham) and Maidstone United are away to East Thurrock United.

What of the Devon Clubs? The last 2 disappeared in the last round. Bath City saw to Buckland Athletic and Bideford lost to Gosport Borough (match report here). Ironically, Bath City will host Gosport Borough tomorrow.

The Real FA Cup guys, reckon there are 5 clubs left from the bottom step. Blackfield & Langley, Tadcaster Albion, Dereham Town, Badshot Lea and South Park. You can read about them here.

What to see? With Exeter City at home, then any Devon based fan is probably better off at St James Park. For me, living halfway between Sholing (who will play Blackfield & Langley) and Didcot Town (playing Maidenhead United) I have a choice to make. I haven’t seen any giant killing or any close ties, so hoping to choose something decent. Decisions, decisions!
