We had 2 fascinating games in the 2009/10 League 1 season.

First up was at the Park. A Tuesday night and atrocious weather, wind and heavy rain. Millwall started the match in 8th, Exeter City were 15th. 5,732 fans braves the weather, which included 487 Millwall fans. Bertie Cozic gave a penalty away on 21 minutes, which Dave Martin sent passed Andy Marriott in the Grecian goal. Tully got shown a 2nd yellow card on 52 minutes and therefore a red card. This made a difficult match even harder. But Millwall paid for their inability to convert opportunities to goals, when Adam Stansfield popped up on 88 minutes with a cross that caught the wind and in to the net to level the game for the Grecians.

The second match was at the New Den. Andy Marriott donning the pink keepers kit. Steve Tully in the advert being filmed for Kit Kat, as the players came out of the tunnel. We were battered by Millwall, who were 6th and heading for promotion to the Championship, they had 10 shots on target to our none! Marriott definitely earned his appearance fee that Saturday. But despite his heroics, we lost to a Neil Harris free-kick. Mind you it was a good free-kick, check it out here. Barry Corr was playing, up until the 88th minute when he clumsily challenged Alan Dunne and was red carded. 677 Grecians in a crowd of 9104 were there to witness it.

Our home record against Millwall is P33, W18, D7, L8, Goals F62, A47. It doesn’t look so good when all games though, the record being P49, W23, D13, L13. Goals F102 A135.
