Bearing in mind Ethan Ampadu and Chelski nicking him, where does the club stand with regards to fees with the Jay Stansfield alleged scenario presumably we should be due some fees. Be strange and worrying if we aren't, particularly with another of our school boys allegedly being chased by premier clubs to be signed up next year, will we be letting that go as well?

I say alleged as I haven't seen anything from the club about it only him signing on, nor from the great west information machine that is DevonLive

Jay signed a contract a coupe of months back. I think that mean he goes for a transfer fee, rather than EPPP.

I think Ben Chisene will go to Liverpool (probably) for a small amount under the EPPP rules.

Matt is talking up Ben Chrisene a lot. Seems quite excited about him.
It's a bit annoying that we find them, start to prepare them, and then lose them.- in effect acting as a nursery for the bigger clubs.
It's not the fault of the young players or their family that they are tempted away (we'd all be the same) but the rules need to slant more towards the nursery club. It is in the interest of all that small clubs like City have a better financial incentive to run academies.

The money we get under EPPP rules is pathetic. Maybe a new rule attached, where there is an automatic sell on % for any player poached from lower league academies. Maybe for any kids who've spent at least 5 years in an academy, there would be an automatic 20% sell on or a direct payment after 5 and 10 years if they stay at the new club long term.

The only way we can exist as a club is if we develop then sell academy players. If our best players move before we ever see them or before they sign a pro contract it starts to make a mockery of having an academy in the first place. Something needs to change.
