The Topsham Taproom and Brewery. Down by the canal basin. Thought it was closed when I turned up on Saturday, as not a lot outside to show it's a pub. They brew a few of their own, the lace was not as pretentious as I was expecting.

Did they have any Sandford Orchards ciders on?
Devon Red was available, booty.

I went in the Duke of York last night which was quite an experience.

Egypt Mill in Nailsworth (home of Forest Green Rovers). A lovely old watermill hotel where we stayed for a few days while exploring the Cotswolds, great food and drink.
Brings back memories for me, lived about 3 miles from there when in the UK, and went in there quite a bit

Funnily enough I wondered if that was where you were from when we drove past Avening, it did seem quite popular with the locals in the evening.
We've stayed there 3 times now over the years I think, lovely part of the world and a good base to explore the rest of the Cotswolds from.

Is The Farmers Union any good?

We're staying there in September when we play down there.

I can only speak about the pub rather than the accommodation but it's fine. There's a selection of beer which isn't massive but it's more than adequate and it's clean and tidy inside. You normally get quite a mix of people in there too.

We did the quiz there last week. Couldn't hear a bleddy word the quizmater was saying though as it sounded like he had the mic in his mouth.

I'll just say that some of the clientele were a little out of the ordinary.
