An 8/10 book for me.

Me too , like his writing style.
Did you eventually find a cheap copy of the latest Cornwall book in hardback or are you still waiting for it to come out in paperback ?

I have all the rest of the series in paperback, so will wait till the latest comes out in paperback as well.

Painting the Darkness , Robert Goddard.Long lost , believed dead , son comes back to fight for his baronetcy.
Is he or isn’t he the heir , that is the question. Six hundred well written pages and although I think I ‘ve guessed what will happen two thirds in , I ‘m still enjoying it

As your peruse the second-hand book shops keep an eye open for 'Past Caring', 'Beyond Recall' (which mentions the Eagle pub by Exeter Prison) and 'Into the Blue' where the main character uses the 'Glue pot' pub here in Swindon.

I made it to the end of "Transition" just before my Easter break still as confused as ever.

Back at work yesterday so onto a new book - "A Gentleman in Russia" by Amor Towles. Liked the look of it in a charity shop so picked it up, then found it top of the MiL's pile of books on her coffee table the next day. She said she enjoyed it, so here goes...

The Longest Kill: The Story of Maverick 41, One of the Worlds Greatest Snipers. By Sgt Craig Harrison.

Once held the world record of over 1.5 miles when took out the 2 man crew of a machine gun. Later he was badly let down by the MOD when his name was given to the press resulting threats from Al Qaeda against him and his family.

Latest in the Bernard Cornwall Saxon series about Uhtred , now being shown as a series on tv under the name The Last Kingdom.
War of the Wolf. Uhtred is now an old(ish) man of sixtyish. Set in the 920’s it is well up to the usual high standard and very entertaining.

Got this is in paperback now. Do you think this is the last in the series? I haven't started reading it yet.

A very enjoyable read.

Now reading Jordan Peterson's book on the 12 rules for life.

Got this is in paperback now. Do you think this is the last in the series? I haven't started reading it yet.

Have a gut feeling it won’t be the last having read this recent one.Must be getting close though , if only because the central character is getting old now. One final hurrah perhaps?
