New goalkeepers is of the utmost priority. There seems to be plenty available, would be nice if we could get some news before the 2nd or 3rd week in June.

Need to be patient!

Why do we have 2 retained list threads, Isn't one enough? Now we have to go back and forth all the bleddy time.

Because one is a sticky which was meant ot show departures and arrivals and the other was for comments similar to the speculation about signings - I think

On any thread entitled "Retained list" clearly there will be discussion. Imo we didn't need Hants to start a second thread.
Is Hants the only bloke who can start a "sticky"?!

Any Admin or Mod can sticky a thread. The problem is I can't make a post appear as the first post of a thread, unless it is the first post, and the first post I believe people like seeing as a reference point as to who's in the squad.

Ironic that I've been saying for ages how missing out on the playoffs may be a blessing in disguise to allow MT more time to sort out deals etc and then in his interview re: the retained list he goes and says not much tends to happen transfer wise until June anyway! So basically, the playoffs don't really hinder deals because no one is moving until the leagues are officially decided. Which makes sense.

Might help the players to get a bit of extra time off this summer. No excuses come August next season. Although we started really well last season so who the hell knows what will happen (drunk)

The most important thing is that the squad is in place for the start of preseason....we saw this year with Lee Martin signing two days before the start of the season how long it took him to get going

Can't judge until he plays. But we do have Holmes, Williams and yes, Sparked to play wide left. Hopefully we're not just going to sign untried players and players who avoid the penalty area.
Loosen the purse strings a bit Taggy and sign up an established, mid-20' s goalscorer. : not untried or crocked.

A tried and tested striker who scores goals, mid twenties, will cost £500,000+ and would probably want £7-8k per week and a three year contract. That's a £1.5m investment, for someone who could break their leg on day 1.
