Packets of fags with a ten-pound note wrapped around them in the penny falls machines at the arcade.
Not good news for this old trainspotter. It was only a matter of time, I suppose, before the greenies got on to this. There are concerns about the use of coal for heritage steam trains. At the moment some of them import from Poland, but may be banned from burning from coal.
Fortunately there seem to be enough mp's interested in fighting for legislative "heritage" exemptions. A real problem however is that even with all the preserved lines that exist, there is not enough annual demand generated to keep a UK steam coal pit in economic production. Any blanket ban on coal for other uses does not really help ease the problem. Not good news for this old trainspotter. It was only a matter of time, I suppose, before the greenies got on to this.
And what about those footplate crews? All breathing out the dreaded CO2.
Just got my new sticker this weekSee also: National Trust membership stickers in windscreens. It must all be done online these days.
I was into the Garbage pail kids when I was a youngster,, the bubblegum tasted crap...Bubblegum cards. Remember getting my James Bond ones confiscated by a teacher, who denounced them as pornographic and gave me a detention to boot ! Never did get them back. What there was not to like about Ursula Andress emerging from the sea in her white bikini I'll never know !
The last series I collected was an American Civil War one in the 60s. The family shop had been sold by then, so getting the full set was hard work!Bubblegum cards.
