Perhaps it would be good for everyone's mental health if we all agree to not posting things that friend of friends expert mate has said he had heard. Its mildly funny when it's footy based but not so when Its something like this. Just saying like.
It was from a reliable source and you didn't need to post twice. You totally Ignored my introduction to that post and my post aftervit .I would think there are plenty of other things that would affect people more seriously. I posted the advice in good faith, from a very reliable source, and there is nothing shocking about the content

Stay safe.

The King is Dead. Long Live The King!
The stats show that the rate of increase in new cases in Italy is slowing down and therefore may be peaking,

Preparing for liftoff
Our outbreak will be much worse than Italy, because by this comparative stage they had completely locked down. The hope of course is that this evidence will finally force our government to take some concrete action. Too late to avoid tens of thousands of deaths, but anything will be welcome.

No idea if this is really the case or a quirk in the data, but it appears that the death toll always dips on Sunday, with a subsequent Monday uptick. Maybe because of how they're recorded. I wouldn't be to optimistic about a slowdown after one day.

It goes against the grain for Johnson to demand a lockdown and back it up with law. He is a social libertarian and it's hard for him to remove people's freedom. In a way that's a good thing in that he wants to avoid being dictatorial, but of course the facts seem to show that self-isolation is the only way to slow down the spread of this awful virus, so Johnson really needs to invoke his powers to force people to stay at home, and do that quickly : now!

People are responsible for deaths too. If everyone acted sensibly, practised good hygiene and kept their distance then it would be more likely we could operate as we are currently and slow the spread but a lot of people can't do this because they are really really stupid. We'll end up like Italy not just in terms of deaths but people not being able to leave their area for shopping or anything. Impacting more on the elderly and vulnerable and putting more pressure on the people who have to go and get shopping etc for them. There's a load of great people doing great things out there but there's also a load of complete tw*ts.

The fact that many people are complacent and/ or very selfish comes as no surprise. But there are many more who are good folks who self- isolate
and who try to help
And the doctors and nurses are bloody saints. How brave they are

NHS Staff, Mike, not just doctors and nurses. The low paid HCA's will be there changing and cleaning people, receptionists, porters... all just as much at risk. Plus many, many more. And they STILL have to pay to park at work, all for the pleasure of risking their health and lives!
