Good signing but can they really afford Gary Johnson and a a team of full time professionals on crowds of 1,500?
Funnily enough they are apparently the only full time professional side in National League South, whereas there are about half a dozen full time professional clubs in the equivalent National League North. Kiddy Harriers for example are in to their third year full time at this level and had a crowd of about 1500 on Saturday (albeit they too are struggling financially ; the Chairman personally financed the 75 k transfer fee they forked out last season)

Fair play to Torquay. They have got by far the best man they could have got. Watch them rise now!

Glad to see they won yesterday - Good appointment in Johnson would of liked him to manage us at some point

Now that's taking the Gary Johnson love-in a bit too far!

He would of been a decent replacement for Tisdale (not offence to Matt who’s started great) given his experience of league 2 and previous experience of managing clubs on tight budgets like Yeovil & Cheltenham (taking Yeovil to the championship has to be one of the greatest achievements for a manager managing a club of that size)

I fancy Torquay have pulled off a real coup there

There could be a more unpleasant motive behind this appointment let's hope not.
