Allegedly missed out on a striker to a mighty National League side last week but still fishing apparently https://www.devonlive.com/sport/exeter-city-boss-matt-taylors-2940693
Could this be the beginning of the end for the Trust and we try and find a backer to compete??

If this is true, this really scares me.
Why ?? It's hardly a new phenomenon, plenty of other football league clubs are in the same boat as us.

Ambitious non league teams will sometimes pay very big wages, we move on and look elsewhere.

Plenty of other football league sides are privately owned yet they aren't all offering stupid wages, we have just signed two players who turned down deals at other league two clubs, clearly we are competing.

The solution to competing with those gambling with their club's future isn't gambling our own club's future.

Let’s hope we can get a keeper as good as Bert Troutman ! (Yes I know that’s not the correct spelling )

So you are happy to be a League 2 side and not much else (+ or - the odd temporary movement)?

Don't get me wrong, the Trust has/is brilliant and has provided stability at all levels when it has been so desperately needed. But we are now treading water.......

Sorry to bring this back on topic, but rumour has it that Havant striker Alfie Rutherford is being looked up and down by MT.

Can we get a decent striker fir £2k a week? That's £300k we'd need for a three year contract, unless we've got some more transfer income heading our way then it might be a big gamble.

Interesting to note that while at Exeter, Tisdale released two of the top 4 goalscorers from the Conference South last year.

Harvey and Reid? Would prefer the former...
