My first season watching City was his last as a player, so I only have some vague memories of him. But clearly he is very worthy of the 'legend' tag.
RIP Keith.
Probably the same season as me, Harvey alongside John Newman?

Club stalwart Keith, was he trainer for a while after hanging up his boots? Believe he came from Crediton, certainly a legend.

Not unlike Cliff Bastin, Keith became seriously deaf in later life; attributed to him headering the ball!
And those balls were certainly heavier and soggier then, complete with their laces...

Yes, I seem to remember that was the CH pairing. Not to shabby either.

In those days there wasn't a centre half pairing : there was a right half, centre half and left half.

Nah, 4-2-4 had established itself a few years earlier, at City under Jack Edwards, and at England level under Ramsey !

Think you're right, Ballzy. In our promotion team it was 2-3-5, with the three being Des Anderson, Keith Harvey and Arnold Mitchell. The manager was Jack Edwards.
I think by the time Newman came along it must have changed to 4-2-4, which Ramsay played, although in the '66 WC it was kind of 4-1-3-2.

Interesting to think of our formation back in the day;

I guess that my first team would be;

Shearing

Smythe Harvey Newman Blain

Mitten, Kirkham.

Pleat, Banks, Curtis, Corr

Racking my brains here and I'm pretty sure I can remember Keith being trainer and wearing that plain red track suit of another era.
