Harris opinion on the barcodes ?

Rafa should go and manage a club with ambition he deserves better with his CV
I'm not sure what Rafa is up to at the moment. He let the one person most likely to score go to a side in The Championship (Dwight Gayle) and bought in someone (Rondon) who is almost as unlikely to score as what he had left (Joselu). Shelvey being out injured hasn't helped. He is by far the most creative player at The Toon. The side he had out yesterday looked pretty similar to what he had towards the back end of last season when they were doing well but he seems to be setting them up with this defensive mentality that is doing nobody any favours. Aside from that, he is being hamstrung by Ashley. How any club in the Premier League can make a £26 million profit in transfers and expect to go forward is nigh on impossible. I watched this, https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45678196, on Friday and it just about sums it all up. You put any manager in the world in at St James's Park at the moment and it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference until Ashley sells up. He knows he hasn't got the money to make a big enough dent in what is required. The Shiek Yamoney's of the footballing world have priced him way out of the competiton. There have been players transferred into 'lesser' clubs that Newcastle should have been able to afford that they haven't even been at the races for, for example Andre Schurlle and Alfie Mawson at Fulham, Joao Moutinho at Wolves, Jack Wilshere at West Ham, Danny Ings and Stuart Armstrong at Southampton, Kevin Miralles left Everton on loan to somewhere in Europe, Kurt Zouma has been let out on loan by Chelsea. These are all players that Newcastle ought to have been in the market for but they weren't even in it.

Not sure United will make the top 4 this season. Spurs to take their place
Can't see United making top 4, and unless Spurs buy big in Jan I think they'll struggle. I reckon this year could be Arsenal reclaiming the fourth place trophy.

Too close to call between Chelsea, Liverpool and Citeh but agree they'll make up the top 3 come May next year.

Cardiff look completely out of their depth.

Further to what I said last night, Sky sources are suggesting that former Chelsea and Man United chief executive Peter Kenyon is getting a consortium together to buy out Ashley. We wait, we see and we wonder...…………………………………………….. and pray that something good will come of it.

Will Ashley want too much? Plus nowadays to own a Premier League club you need Billionaires, Millionaires aren't wealthy enough to pump the money in to run clubs, Has Kenyon and Co got those resources? But with the barcodes Ashley needs to bigger off

Word is £300 million plus assurances that whoever has the funding capable of doing what he can't...………………………………….. take the club forward. Kenyon has the ability to get backing from those with plenty of money in The City apparently.

If this consortium have the funds anyone but Ashley will be welcome. Must admit money from the City is risky, They won't be football people but faceless business investors who will demand some sort of return and that return will depend if Newcastle are a Premiership club, If they get relegated and unlike last time they don't make a instant return then the City boys will get the jitters and pull their investment

Newcastle fans will still find a reason to whine and protest. Bullitt, Robson, Roeder, Pardew, Souness, Alladyce, Ashley have all had to put up with their uneducated crap.

Terrible football club with pathetic supporters. Always makes me laugh when you hear the 'best fans in the country' just coz 45-50k turn up every week and whine and boo their own.

Never been a big club and never will.

Talk about uneducated crap. Bobby Robson was treated like a God. Souness never really had any problems. Guillits problems were self made by leaving out players like Shearer and Ferguson and then getting beat by Sunderland. Pardew was unfortunate because of guilt by association to the Cockney Mafia but I'd suggest even then I'd say he won the support round. Allardyce is $4!t and deserved everything he got and if you can't see Ashley is the club into the ground then you're either blind or just plain stupid .

Geordies turned on Robson and got him sacked. That's a fact. Plenty of articles online dating back to when he was getting booed and how hurt he was by it all.

The point is they think they are massive club with a god given right to be in the big time. They are a second rate club that have barely won anything and have the worst fans in the country. Only a matter of time before they jump on Rafa and have some pathetic protest.

Are you Credy in disguise? There's very little difference between Newcastle and Man Citeh prior to Sheik Mansour taking over and now look at Citeh. The biggest difference is Citeh are still the second club in their City whereas Newcastle are the only club in theirs. Put somebody like Mansour behind Rafa and the potential is massive.

Have to agree that Newcastle is arguably the best placed PL club to really launch a push with the right ownership and backing. Every other club has an immediate local rival in terms of fan base - Liverpool/Everton, Man U/Man City, Villa/Birmingham/WBA, London speaks for itself. Leeds could potentially make similar claims, but their ownership history is arguably even more "basket case" than Newcastle.

Admittedly in modern football, local fan base is virtually irrelevant to a top flight football club, but I prefer to determine a "big club" in terms of what the football club means to the local community, rather than its EBITDA.

Big one at the top this weekend with Liverpool & City facing each other...
Well that was a snoozer!.....

Liverpool looking superb defensively mind - Van Djik is a rolls Royce of a centre half and worth every penny so far....no goal conceded at home in 9 league games first team to achieve that since 1994 & only 3 conceded in th PL this season compared to pre Van Djik 13 at at the same stage last season
