Positives all round from last night, although I don't rate Fisher at all.

Law was also poor again, I seriously hope that Jay is preferred over him now in the league.

Law wasn’t poor from where I was sat.

If Carlsberg did football clubs...
I really hope that players are rested, motivated and unified after last night. Ready to go and battle for promotion.

What a bizarre take! I thought Law, as so often, was key to most of our spells of good play. He and MJ are both great options.

Sadly agree with you on Fisher though.

Not from my sofa either. Drove forward when possible and kept the ball well. He didn't have a great deal of options in front of him when he got the ball.

Interesting comments on Fisher. He seemed to be on a different wavelength to the rest of the team at Macclesfield. Probably needs a few more games which at this point of the season it's a luxury he won't get.Unfortunate when his enthusiasm was proving to be an asset before he got injured.

In peace...

I just wanted to say well played and good luck for the rest of the season. Both times you scored I thought we were finished and it wouldn't have been an unfair result. I was really surprised by the XI we put out and we didn't really get going - credit to Matt Taylor and those who played - as without knowing you would have said you were the ones playing a first XI who had played together many times before.

I suspect the win may be a bit of a poisoned chalice for us - we tailed off at the end of last season looking fatigued so not sure about the merit of the pair of cup runs we're on (aside from the fact that this tournament is an abomination anyway). Hopefully last night will galvanise you to kick on in the quest for promotion - it's certainly showed you've got a great deal of talent, heart and fight underneath your starting XI. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Thought Law looked good, but didn't have a lot of options. Thought Fisher competed well in the air and showed a turn of pace I didn't know he had, but looked lost and ineffective. Martin had some positive contributions, but didn't do enough... Kite looked like a typical Exeter youth product...tactically and technically competent... Time will tell if he has anything extra in the locker. Randall showed both why he's rated AND why he's not in the first XI, back 3 did OK, Taylor had moments, but didn't impose himself enough... Did alright, I thought overall. Pompey could've been a bit more clinical and comfortably beaten us though and people would be a lot less positive about the showing. Thought we were OK and not much more.

Oh... And Richardson had a decent game and seems to be getting more used to this 'football' he looks like he started playing about a month ago.

Where I was sitting the Pompey fans were really impressed with Law and said that him being subbed was a turning point and they were happy, He was certainly the best player for us last night
