In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
McAuley desperately wanted to take over Exeter City and would have used his Bampton company Rotoloc as calateral. He did go to the extreme of standing on the Big Bank during a match, as a plane flew up and down trailing the banner:: 'Its Down Hill without Dan' the 'Hill' being a reference to the late Clifford. Thats all I know, I dont know what the stumbling block was.
When this lockdown is all over,I will go up to the Devon Records Office & have a root around the Newspaper Archive then post anything on the memories thread.

Can you remember the year all of that happened Pete ? I’m guessing 1985..I need a approx year to start.
I have a good memory for trivia involving the Grecians usually but for some reason don’t remember much about Dan McCauley & Exeter City.

Areema Nasreen(36) & Aimee O’Rourke(39)
Both nurses who contracted Covid-19 whilst working.
Lots of people have passed away & they all have stories, but I find the death of health professionals particularly sad. ☹

Idiots who ignore social distancing should have their names written on their foreheads in marker pen.

My dad met him at a Game and later phoned me to say "I've just shook hands withe a millionaire." That chance meeting and conversation meant so much to the dear old bloke. 😘
