I can't understand why a player of his quality is playing division four football. Hopefully, he recovers from long term injury and stays fit and there is no more to it than that. There will be expectation but that comes with the job. Also MT will probably need to address fullbacks and players playing out of position but he is definitely going in the right direction, in my opinion.

Does seem just the sort of player we need, the ability to win the ball, make space for himself and play passes long and short would be perfect for our underwhelming central midfield atm. However I won't be getting excited until he's fit and got a couple of games under his belt, been disappointed too often in the past.
What's his injury and what is the prognosis?

Not likely to begin training until around October, so could be December before he is fully fit. Lets hope he is worth the wait.

From what I have heard Big Nige has already started training with the group. He is still not fully into team training but has started that process.

I heard that he had not begun contact training yet and was a few weeks away from that. Hope that is wrong as it would be great to have him involved sooner rather than later!

Matt Taylor said last week:

"Nigel Atangana is still a few weeks away but he’s out there on a daily basis with the group of players".

He's getting fit but won't be rushed back. Its a long season so no point in taking any chances with him. He'll start to make the matchday squad in September with a couple of 20 minute appearances. He's a fantastic player who, in time, will be fully appreciated.

The question is who will he replace. It seems likely that Collins will drop instead of Taylor, but wrongly so in my opinion.

Sounds like he could be close to coming back then?
