Nothing Ajose did before this long layoff filled me with confidence that he's going to solve any issues. Abrahams who ended up at Newport would have been a better option IMO. My hope is that a certain young Mr Stansfield could be loaned to us in January because he's got EXACTLY what we need and what an emotional scene it could be if he could rescue our drifting season and fire us up in the autos. Because in my view if we get Jay Stansfield and keep him fit we're going up, probably as champions. That kid's going places.
The kid is only 16. Just because he is doing well in a youth league, it doesn't mean to say he is automatically going to step up to senior football and start banging them in left, right and centre.

Actually, as of a couple of weeks ago he is now 17 but that doesn't change the general point you're making. Will be interesting to see what Fulham decide to do next with Jay but I very much doubt he'll be coming back to Exeter any time soon.

rescue our drifting season and fire us up in the autos I'd hate to see an on-track season, still in the FA Cup, Still in Leasing.com trophy, currently 4th after 19 games, not bad for a drifting season
That kid's going places. You are probaly right on this one, initially I would think back to Tiverton (or wherever the family live) for Christmas. He has had a good start to his life at Fulham but as we are seeing in the U23 trophy not all the kids signed to Championship, premiership clubs are up to it. Hope he continues to perform but he is not the answer to our lack of goals

At Fulham Jay is just another youngster, therefore no undue pressure. Whereas at t ECFC he will always be Adam's son, with far too much pressure on him to be as good as Adam. Leave the lad here he is to develop naturally.

I agree, I think Exeter would be a lovely place for Jay to finish his career, not start. He's playing good football with confidence in a excellent academy, he should stay and become the player he wants to become. League two football is not the place for him just yet.

No chance Fulham would loan him back to City.

Bowman and Ajose didn't work. Bowman and Martin didn't/doesn't work. Bowman and Jay didn't/doesn't work. Bowman and Seymour didn't/doesn't work. Bowman and Fisher didn't/doesn't work.
Anyone else recognise the link?

Football is all about patterns of play. There is no reason that partnerships cannot click given time. In any case, I don't care who scores, as long as we win games. OG for top scorer this season anyone?

People do not just work overnight, they are trained to learn each others movements. Ajose and Bowman are the natural partnership that most of the time do work, I'm sure they will given plenty of minutes on the pitch together.

Also Bowman gets far too much stick, His work rate at getting to air balls and splitting defenders is one of the best I have seen in a city shirt.

That Martin, Jay, Seymour, and Fisher don't know how to link up with Bowman?
