who, for the most part, had a decent game. This was very difficult to referee. you could argue Law should have been sent off, and technically that was probably a second yellow but it wasn't much of a foul.

Fisher should have been given a few minutes.

Bowman is going to be burnt out soon.

Oof. Not an easy place to go. Newport will be right up there. Sounded like we were under the cosh after the first 20 minutes so did well to get a point.

Very hard-earned point.
Was worried Parkes would get sent off and according to Stuart James ref was over-zealous giving out yellow cards.
Overall have to be happy coming away with the point and stopping the Welsh boys getting three.
Still top of the pile and still undefeated..

It was a lack of consistency. Bowman got no protection.

I hate teams like Newport- they somehow manage to draw free kicks from their own physicality. Exeter try and play football but every single tackle from Newport was borderline or worse. When you add a ref of today’s calibre, it’s amazing to come away with a point. Ref genuinely gave us nothing today against a bunch of bloody thugs; his lack of punishment just enables teams like Newport to bully & shove their way past teams. Well done city
