GOS was well known for his slightly strange lyrics back in the early 70s, including some decided dodgy musings about a young girl called 'Clair'.

A highly regarded sound recordist at the BBC started off in a not totally dissimilar vein in a three piece group which started in the mid 70's and went on for a surprisingly (if you heard their music you would probably agree) long time, certainly into the 80's when they moved from Rough Trade to Virgin.
