From what I gather Tom is being asked to do a lot of things that are from his strengths, ie doing the sort of work Bowman does for us. Could you imagine us asking Ajose or Seymour to do a similar job to Bowman and expect a decent return..... it just ain't going to happen.
Bowman is a target man. I can't believe any coach in football would expect Nichols to do the same role. He might have been asked to work hard and run the channels but I doubt very much he's expected to do the same role as Bowman.

Can't understand people hankering for a player that has been a pariah at his two previous clubs, what would people say if we signed a player with such a poor return, I mean unbelievably poor return for a striker? Learn to let go, we made a lot of money from him, let's leave it at that and bring on our next generation.

We don't have to decide or agree... Its not a democracy. If taylor goes for him, I'm excited. If not, then I won't be disappointed unless he goes to a rival and is brilliant for them.

there was a time when we signed a striker who had done well in his earlier career, but was 32 and in the previous two seasons had only scored something like 4 goals. immediately before joining us he had a loan spell at Shrewsbury where he failed to score at all in the twelve appearances, which included ten starts.

so predictably there were some protests on here that he was washed up etc. and saying he shouldn’t have been signed.

now I am not saying Tom Nichols is Jamie Cureton, but strikers can recover their mojo with a change of club. It is what we are counting on with Ajose too.

Without looking, I don’t remember Ajose’s stats being very good at his previous two clubs.

Remarkably, Cureton was actually 34 (and just about to turn 35) when he joined us the first time.

Wouldn’t be surprised to Fisher go out the door.

Nah, I suspect he will stay as he was playing regularly recently. Plus, he’s out injured for the next few weeks so no one will sign him when unfit.
