Most of these rating things nowadays don't tend to give "good" marks for a late sub unless they do something like score.

Oh for the days of "Match Facts" back in the day when they'd only give you a score when you played 20+ minutes and would default to 6/10 unless you did something really bad/good in that time.

It didn't occur to you that the real shame is the fact that we gave the guy a contract and then sat him for a season?

Nah , cant be having that, he got a contract and some 1st team opp's ie chances and he didn't make enough of them.

He scored at Sunderland and hardly played again - he certainly wasn't given enough opportunities

I tend to agree but then again why he's still without a club in October?? Perhaps he's not got his head in the game....
