I make credit cards work for me. I don't pay a penny in interest yet they pay me up to £100 a year.

Credit cards can work for you, but they can also work against you in a very major way. My view is they wouldn't be able to work for such a number of people if there weren't a great many losers too (and I have a few in my family), which turns me off of them.

Good luck getting a good credit score without one, though.

Bringing this broadly back on-topic, did anyone here ever get a Flybe credit card? I remember they used to offer a free flight as a reward.

I think credit cards are great and most of my purchases are done using one. I stick with one card and, without fail, pay it off totally every month. Currently I've got an M and S card which gives me a lot of vouchers every three months which I normally use for further clothing purchases. In addition everything you buy online is protected by insurance when in the post.
If it's good for you, that's fine.

And I get £200 or more a year off flights through Avios from my credit cards. I give the money I save to charity.

But I'm conscious that, like everything else, CCs help well off people who can afford to pay them off every month and avoid interest, but shaft the poor.

Alone in my polytunnel.
I don’t have a credit card but I do have loyalty cards with Adams Home Hardware in Crediton and Bernaville Nurseries.
