I attend with my young grandson and have been disappointed that Dean Moxey has not been playing recently. Does anyone know why and is it coincidental that this has coincided with the recent disappointing drop in form of the club? Thanks

Deano is on his last legs, a bit like Lee Holmes, and is either brilliant or is a car crash waiting to happen. I think the time has come to hang up his boots.

He has been a top player but nowadays makes too many mistakes. Gets out of position a lot, passes go to opponents, etc. Parkes is more reliable as a CB, Dickenson faster as a WB. So he's presumably likely to be mainly on the bench if these two stay fit.

Dean started against Crawley and was pretty awful in the first half.

Personally I don't think the fact that Deano is nearing the end of his playing career has much to do with our current dip in form. It's sad to see a favourite of ours as a shadow of his former self but there are plenty of other aspects that need addressing - misfiring strikers and an inability to concentrate for the entire 90 minutes are just two.

IMO rumours of Deano's demise have been much exaggerated.

Not sure full-back is his best position any more, but think, more often than not, he's looked pretty assured at centre-back, especially when he's had a prolonged run in the team.

The issue, it seems to me, is when Matty T chops and changes his centre-backs, as he's not averse to doing, it adversely affects Deano and, perhaps to a lesser extent, Tom Parkes. I'd suggest it's more than a coincidence that Aaron Martin, who's played pretty much every game, has been our best centre-half this season.

While I recognise I may be allowing my heart to rule my head, I'd have a slight preference for Deano over Parkesy. At the same time, it seems to me, the bigger issue is that the manager should decide on his strongest pairing and stick with it.

And hasn't he bad a shoulder injury which probably needs a proper rest over the summer to heal?

You don’t half spout some b******* at times Harris, those times being mostly when you’re awake.

Quite. Appreciate stats aren't everything, but they certainly don't support what grecIAN Harris is saying:

Deano starting: Played 26 | Won 13 [50%] | Drawn 9 [35%] | Lost 4 [15%]
Deano not starting: Played 23 | Won 11 [48%] | Drawn 6 [26%] | Lost 6 [26%]

Egg. When you've got the time and the inclination it would be good to know the stats for Lee Martin. I feel that his stats might be very good. The cheque's in the post.
