Wasn't Webb (we used to call him dweeb) a bus conductor from Stonehouse. Seem to remember he ran off with a players wife?
He was a postie (and CWU rep) rather than a bus conductor.
Darren Purse was the player.

Darren Purse must be one ugly b&stard if his wife prefers that to him.

A former colleague once finished behind a candidate who was dead.

He finished 8th out of 8 in a London constituency, a bit behind a candidate who'd died a week before polling day. The early postal votes cast for the 7th chap before his death were more than my colleague's overall votes.

Consolation for all defeated candidates is at least they were beaten by people who were alive.....
