It’s clear what some think of girls or women playing football and how they should be kept away from playing at SJP

Oh do FRO with that. It's extremely tedious reading this over and over again. You behaved like this when you were last banned (3 times) from Exeweb.

Danny, you know that I am sympathetic to your view on this and that by and large I agree with you, however I must also agree with Hants that your continual raising of this issue is getting tedious in the extreme. We have to accept that not all clubs are going to be as forward-thinking as Lewes and that we are looking at evolution, not revolution, for Women's football at ECFC.

Let us celebrate the success the Women's team are enjoying at the start of this season (long may it continue), continue to post news of results, fixtures, team news and star performers, and do what we can to enthuse and broaden support for Women's football at Exeter, and do what we can to bring about change through increasing popular appeal. I fear that by your continual hectoring on the one issue of venue, you are doing exactly the opposite.

Next up for Exeter City Women is another home match against Southampton Women (what are apparently different to Southampton FC Women), this Sunday, 8th Spetember, 2pm kick off (at Cullompton Rangers). Let's hope we can continue our FAB start to the season!

Keep fighting the good fight sister.
Remind me, when does the disability team to play at SJP campaign start?

Indeed. Good to see that you, and one or two others, are waving the banner for equality. Whilst it's clear that misogyny is alive and well amongst some of the football following dinosaurs, it should be obvious to all that change is coming.
I have little doubt that, if the ECFC Women players were to be candid and honest, they would all welcome being recognised as equals with male players and being allowed to finally make SJP their proper home.
Granted, that day is coming, but not soon enough. ECFC could actually be showing some forward thinking on this one.

Managed to get to the game on Thursday night and was very impressed with how far the women's team has come under Abbie Britton and Clive Watts. Considering Buckland have a number of experienced players that used to play for us when we were last in this division (before we changed direction to a younger team with a development squad structure), to have now come back and beaten a well established team at this level is testament to the good work that is going on behind the scenes.

As for the attendance at Cullompton, I'd say there were about 90 odd people watching; which was quite good for a midweek game.

You do it and I would support it. It's superb news that the disability team are to train at the clubs official training ground, that's a massive step in the right direction.
