Hidden in the middle of a rumour post .... John Akinde? His loan at Rovers is up, maybe they finally want to offload?

No way, he has been shockingly bad in his 2 spells in League 1.
Not good enough to make the step up.

Cover at centre half, a replacement for Harley if he moves on, but another striker? I dont think so.

He is by far the worse forward I have ever seen playing professional football, surely he must be better though??

I'd rather tempt Robbie Turner out of retirement.

I find some of the comments on this thread laughable, it always seems to be the case with many Exewebbers that everyone else is sh*t and then as soon as they join City they turn into Pele, for the record I personally think Akinde has potential and with the right guidance he could do a job, a quick look at his record shows he has probably had a poor season however not so long ago he scored 7 goals in 11 games for Wycombe, he is only a youngster as well.

I also think this rumour is bullsh*t, he is not a Cheesedale type player.

He's not scored goals for a struggling Bristol Rovers side. That's not enough to write him off.

As Missy says, he's young and has potentialm especially if he was on a free.

Cureton failed to net in umpteen games a division below us last season.

Good point,

I mentioned him (Cureton) as a possible signing last season when he joined the Shrews on loan, my comment was met with the usual crap about him being past it, too slow, lazy etc etc, people seem to think differently now.

Do we need another striker? NO.

We need another centre back, a left footed one.
