Absolutely agree that is 100% the Ship Inn used to go regularly with my parents Saturday evening after the City match for a steak before going to see the show at, for me the much missed, Theatre Royal.

You can also see a view of the Cathedral green in the distance.

It was owned by the Watts family who at the time also owned Wattys restaurant in North Street now sadly an amusement arcade. 1960s sausage and chips 1/6 (7.5 new pence) elsewhere half a roast duck 17/6 (87.5) happy days.

Agreed a very strange thread for WOW but interesting read for those of us of a certain age.

In the Red cow they had a dead pig on a string for an air freshener!
