Advice needed: Take family to Plymouth game?

Hello all

Another great win for City. Am looking forward to next week's home game.

Which brings me on to Plymouth. I've heard it can be a bit nasty.

Assuming tickets were possible, would it be OK to take the family --wife and 2 daughters? Or is that a bad idea?

How bad are these games usually?

Up here you should be fine. Down there though..... you might think twice.

If you just go to the ground and away again there is not normally any trouble. Too many police about and they tend to close off Oxford Road and part of St James Road. The only trouble I have ever heard about (but not seen) has tended to happen away from the ground in town of the kind you might find on a Saturday night.

Just don’t go the local ‘known’ boozers after or before and you’ll be fine, probably worth sitting in the seated stands and not in the BB cos of language and the likes for the kids. Going down to Cornwall on the other hand I wouldn’t recommend it for a family outing.

Fine in and around the ground though there is always more tension. You will probably hear more 'fruity' language than usual. Great to witness SJP full and rocking so deffo worth going.

There will probably be a bit of aggro somewhere in town but there will be loads of police around and easy to avoid.

As mentioned, Gnome Park is not a family day out.

Having read the points about not going to Gnome Park, it all depends on what sort of constitution you and yours have. I go with my teenage daughter yet my Dad, a staunch City fan for 60 years, won't go because if some aggro after the FA Cup match down there. There's always grief kicking off around Gnome Park but if you park on one of the many roads off of Outland Road and march briskly back to your car you shouldn't get caught up.

March briskly, keep head down and an eye out for the hooded meerkats and hope your teenage niece doesn't exclaim that Argyle are useless cheats too loudly 😉.

Thanks for the help. It may be time to introduce them to an English derby!

Like grandad wouldn't say very loudly in a crowded car park outside Elland Road "eh bauy, them Leeds lot, they weren't that good were they". Tact and sense of danger (lack of) has skipped a few generations 😅
