Although everyone seems to have an opinion who's a shoe in for the Autos and who's likely to slip into the play-offs, this year currently has the promise to be one of the most exciting finishes to a season for a long time. With clubs currently standing in twelfth having the potential of putting a run together and nipping into the frame.
How many points will be needed for the autos and how many for the play-offs, this year, with the number of potential competitors I think it will be greater than the previous years for the play=offs, so we all need to stop dropping points and starting to put a consistent run together. Only two sides have the potential of breaking the 100 points for the season and in Mansfields case they would have to win every remaining game to do this which we all know isn't going to happen (they play at SJP at the end of March).
Below I've put together a quick breakdown of the current top ten and how many of their remaining fixtures are home and away, noting away clashes against promotion rivals for a starting point:
Lincoln City
Played 31 current points 61 Potential points 106 - 8 home games left and 7 away with away fixtures against fellow promotion contenders Carlisle Utd, MK Dons, Mansfield and Forest Green Rovers, and final game of the season at home to Colchester Utd
Mansfield Town
Played 32 current points 58 Potential points 100 - 7 home games left and 7 away with away fixtures against fellow promotion contenders MK Dons and ECFC with their final game of the season away to MK Dons
Bury
Played 32 current points 57 Potential points 99 - 7 home games left and 7 away with away fixtures against fellow promotion contenders ECFC, Stevenage, Carlisle Utd and Tranmere Rovers , and final game of the season at home to Port Vale
Colchester Utd

ECFC

Tranmere Rovers

Well that's the top ten as it stands further outsiders who could nip in are FA Cup heroes Newport and possibly Oldham with their new manager, that said I would expect more of a challenge from both of them next season.
