Barkley, Dier and Delph in midfield against a quality Croatia midfield? Sorry : don't like the look of that.
But...... Up the Lions

England played well and should have been out of sight before half time. As it was, they did well to dig themselves out of a hole. As for Berkley, Dier and Delph it's an improvement on Anybody, Anybody and Henderson. It's very noticeable that England have played well over the three games without Henderson being anywhere near the squad.

Harry Kane dividing opinion on 5 live now. Strange one, an assist and the winner, occasionally excellent link up play, yet so frustrating with his lack of mobility. At international level he looks like a 38 year old who's legs have gone, and they often do as he falls to the ground for the umpteenth time. Can't argue with his record though.

Reckon he could do with losing half a stone, and gain a half yard of pace.

I tend to agree about Henderson. He's not a clever or skillful player, although he does try to make up for it with energy. Milner is much better. Having said that, he got good reports from the WC.

Give up with the Henderson bashing Harris - he’s captain of Liverpool & if fit Southgate would of picked him for England over Delph all day long and rightly so , Henderson was one of England’s best players at the World Cup,

Think it’s fair to say Jurgen Klopp & Gareth Southgate know more about a midfielder than you

England are definitely going in the right direction under Southgate though , he’s made the national team relevant again

The way Delph played on Sunday I'd beg to differ. He gave all the energy that Henderson does (the only good quality about him) and wasn't too shabby about knocking the ball about also (something you can very rarely say about Henderson).

The front 3 in Sterling , Kane & Rashford is very good.....

I think we’re improving massively

We don't really have any players who would get anywhere near a World XI, but it is a young squad and the team is playing with energy, enthusiasm and spirit. Southgate seems to be the right man for this relatively young team. I still don't feel very confident about us beating any of the the top 16 or so teams but at least we might do.
