The only good thing about an away day to Colchester is a visit to Hamilton Halls at Liverpool Street.

So, I'm off to Berlin for the weekend instead!

No clap from me - final match before our midwinter break on the Sunday.

Only time I went our 9 lost to their 12 5-1, I'm in no hurry to return.

Clap Clap x6. November weekend in Clacton. What could possibly go wrong?

Not yet been to their new stadium but saw us win 0-1 at Layer Road in 1990ish, evening match IIRC.

Pretty sure it was Jim McNichol in that midweek game.

While I’m on reminiscing mode, the season before,we played Colchester on a Friday night in the penaltimate game of the season.Colchester needed a win to preserve FL status & the Grecians duly rolled over & lost 4-0,memorable pre match because I tried to take a short cut driving my car through the Army Barracks near to Layer Rd,I was quickly stopped by a soldier waving a SLR at my car :D (Heightened security at the time because the IRA were active)

Well what do you expect when you try to save a bob or two and buy one of those "knock-off" Army Surplus prototype sat-navs? ;)

PS: I was at a freezing Layer Road to see that "historic" 0-1 win, thanks to Lord Banks 9th minute winner back in late 1968..next stop Man Ure (Best, Charlton, Law et al) at SJP in R3. That Colchester game was (almost) up there with the "Happy as Larry" win vs Doncaster that saved our skins!.
