Does a win in the tinpot trophy add to our current league winning streak of three?

Port Vale currently 14th in the division having won 4 drawn 1 and lost 4. So a mixed start for the Valiants, like their opinions on us. Some see it as a win for them and some see us as one of the teams that are always up there or thereabouts challenging for promotion so they do have a bit of respect for us.

Their defeats this year are away to Colchester 2-0, away to Carlisle 2-1, and away to Tranmere 1-0, with a home loss 2-1 against Newport. The draw was against the divisions draw specialists and Vegans FGR 1-1. Teams they have beaten are home to Cambridge 3-0, Crawley 1-0 and Northampton 2-0 with the solitary away win against Crewe 1-0 last week.

They have also lost to Lincoln 4-0 in the League cup that was.

Currently they are on a bit of a run having gone three matches unbeaten since losing to Newport at home.

Depending how we start (please God not as badly as last week) I think we will be too strong for them and shall win 3-1(Christy can't seem to keep a clean sheet at the moment), with goals from Forte Stockley and A Martin and a crowd of 4985 with 346 rip roaring Grecians in attendance.

Curiously for those interested in former employees Port Vale take on MK in the following match where I believe they may well pick up their second draw of the season

We should get a draw, and I reckon Manny Okeleke will get the late equaliser. 313 City fans in attendance.

You go me on the alarm clock
They've not conceded many at home, although form is hard to call this early in the season. I'll predict a 2-1, goals from Stockley and L Martin for us either side of half time, then a late push from the Vale.

I also predict the commentators will spot celeb fan Robbie Williams in the stadium and will make frequent poor puns based on him, Take That, his career and boy-bands in general. (For example, after Martin scores with a 40 yard screamer, the commentators might say, "Let Lee Entertain You", etc.)

Some key battles in this one. Aaron v Pope, Manny v Law and Stockley v Legge.

I'm going for a hard fought, low scoring draw. 1-1. Forte for us- and we'll pick up two more yellows.

For those looking for radio match coverage BBC Stoke can be a good listen.

If so it makes a winning streak of FIVE as you would also have to include the win on pens over Yeovil ! :)
