Does a win in the tinpot trophy add to our current league winning streak of three?
Port Vale currently 14th in the division having won 4 drawn 1 and lost 4. So a mixed start for the Valiants, like their opinions on us. Some see it as a win for them and some see us as one of the teams that are always up there or thereabouts challenging for promotion so they do have a bit of respect for us.
Their defeats this year are away to Colchester 2-0, away to Carlisle 2-1, and away to Tranmere 1-0, with a home loss 2-1 against Newport. The draw was against the divisions draw specialists and Vegans FGR 1-1. Teams they have beaten are home to Cambridge 3-0, Crawley 1-0 and Northampton 2-0 with the solitary away win against Crewe 1-0 last week.
They have also lost to Lincoln 4-0 in the League cup that was.
Currently they are on a bit of a run having gone three matches unbeaten since losing to Newport at home.
Depending how we start (please God not as badly as last week) I think we will be too strong for them and shall win 3-1(Christy can't seem to keep a clean sheet at the moment), with goals from Forte Stockley and A Martin and a crowd of 4985 with 346 rip roaring Grecians in attendance.
Curiously for those interested in former employees Port Vale take on MK in the following match where I believe they may well pick up their second draw of the season
