Throw-ins

I've long thought we are missing a trick with throw-ins, we have one of the biggest aerial threats in the league in Jayden Stockley yet we don't really use the long throw as a weapon.

I see it is something Liverpool have put a focus on:

Whilst I don't expect us to employ a full time coach it is something we could improve as it really is just a technique thing.

If we could hit the penalty spot to six yard box with a flat throw-in I think Stockley would thrive on it.

Sweens has a decent throw as well as Moxey. I think the long throw is a good idea if we're in the final third

Comfortably mid-table
Whenever we play against teams with a long throw in specialist I always worry more than the end result justifies. I don't recall much actual damage being done against us by any.
Having said that I do think that being coached to use throw ins more effectively can have its merits.

Part if that is in the throw itself - the more range and accuracy you can develop the more it can be utilised as a pseudo 'free kick' delivering the ball to players in space away from the line.

The other part is in how the receiving players are ready for the throw - I wonder if many teams develop routines from throw ins as they would from free kicks.

Think Deano should also shoot from 45 yards whenever possible, he didn't do badly against Donny ! ;)

Peter Hatch was the man! I wonder if he could still do a job?

If only.
We have been poor at throw in for years.

They don't have Stockley attacking the ball.

I'd back him to get on the end of them if the quality of the throw was very good.

Is the right answer...don’t know how he did it but he used to bend backwards so far that it looked as though his head would touch the ground behind him. His throws were as good as a corner.
