Well quite: “often referred to”. A number of things are “often referred to” but it doesn’t make it so, neither does using that most august of sources Wikipedia. It’s “The Open Championship” and that’s it, to refer it any other way is quite simply wrong, and to continue to argue the point is arguing simply for the sake of it: it’s “The Open Championship”.
