The Cody Cooke rumour is gaining ground, midfielder turned striker, good physique, a bit in the Wheeler mould. He's already 25 (but so was Kellow!) Interest from Portsmouth apparently.

We signed him before his last injury, didn't we? He featured quite heavily in pre-season.We have not retained Ryan Brunt, so am finding it hard to understand why we have spent a whole season on working on him and bringing him to match fitness (since January in his own words) and all the cost and time that has involved, and then releasing him.
Would it not have been more sensible to offer him a 'pay as you play' sort of deal, or even just a 3 month contract ?
If only we could draw up contracts retrospectively once we know whether players get injured or not. Tisdale took a lot of stick for gambling on the likes of Hoskins and Brunt, but people forget the likes of Ribeiro and David Noble were also crocks and we got a decent bit of mileage out of them.We signed him before his last injury, didn't we? All players say that. They love the current manager until he leaves and then love the next one, unless they don't get a game, whereupon they think the manager is a kant.https://www.exetercityfc.co.uk/news/2017/august/hiram-boateng-signs-permanent-deal/
Can’t see any reference to contract length but worryingly his main reason for signing for ECFC was the manager Paul Tisdale
He was still recovering from his last injury when we signed him. I'm sure Tisdale said he didn't expect him to feature until new year. Those that watched him on the opening day of last season will know what sort of condition he was in.We signed him before his last injury, didn't we? He featured quite heavily in pre-season.
The gamble is that you sign a player with the quality that you'd not normally be able to attract to the club, on a contract they wouldn't sign for if they didn't have fitness issues. They stay crocked, you lose. They get fit, you win. I'm not convinced it's necessarily a bad approach, if done relatively sparingly. He was still recovering from his last injury when we signed him. As for Noble and Ribiero they were signed at a time when we may have had to take those risks. Last year we didn't.
He was still going through the rehab from his knee Injury he suffered in 2016, which is why he didn’t get offered a deal at Argyle. He then had some further setbacks after he signed for us.We signed him before his last injury, didn't we? He featured quite heavily in pre-season.
So what was Tisdale putting him on the bench for the past 2/3 months of the season for ?He was still going through the rehab from his knee Injury he suffered in 2016, which is why he didn’t get offered a deal at Argyle. He then had some further setbacks after he signed for us.
I will be amazed if he gets another league club this summer. I heard Truro were in for him.
