The pocket sized boy's magazine with cartoon stories of the allies heroically winning the war against the dastardly Japs, Germans and Italians. They were everywhere once, generally in a pile in the corner, but I haven't seen one for years. Are they still about ?

I thought you were about to confess to a habit of not wearing underpants.

I learned all I ever needed to know about foreigners from those stories. For example if I ever go to Japan I won't be surprised if someone attacks me shouting " Banzai, Eengleesh pig dog ! "

Indeed Billy, but whilst the Japs were the Banzai merchants wasn't it the Gerry that always said "Die, Eengleesh pig dog"

As for the Froggies, weren't they were always on the back page, advertising "feminine hygiene products"?

No no, the Germans - or Jerry - said things like "Donner und Blitzen" or "Gott in Himmel these Tommies fight like madmen !" as the plucky Brits machine gunned them.

Can't remember what the French said but I believe they were generally unreliable.

My brother used to buy them from a stall in St George's Hall. Taking back a read one in part exchange for a new one. I only read a few of his. However he went in to the army while joined the civil service. There's a moral in there somewhere.

A quick Google and I discovered that they are still in print ! I assume that the newest ones will be a watered down, pale imitation of the old ones with added pcness. I'll bet there's even girls in em. Bah!

Does that mean he borrowed the odd copy of your Pensions Administrator comics?
