Southampton aren't just another Premiership club historically; they were regular visitors to SJP back in the 50's til early 60's. I remember their classy right winger, Terry Paine and goalkeeper John Christie.

Seems at this current time not even Torquay United would be interested. Then yes you're right. Sadly we are stuck with him

6-7 years ago he would of been at the top of many clubs lists and he was fashionable - sadly like clothes managers go in and out of fashion and right now he would be a million miles off a championship or premier league Radar

Managers of lower teams rarely move up to the top 2 leagues unless they take their team with them. It was once rumoured that Swansea and one or two other teams were interested in Tis, but nothing ever came of it if the rumours were true.

Tisdale was offered the Swansea job, decided to accept it, and then persuaded to by the Club Board to stay with us. He had at the time led us to successive promotions and he was in hot demand.

Rightly or wrongly, I'm assuming he was pursuaded in financial and contractual terms. No way he would have stayed at SJP because his City chums were going to miss him.
