Understandable regards the opoosition and travel but seems a tad premature compared to how things may look at 3pm on Saturday?

What news of the weather in Exeter and state of the pitch ?

Snowing hard here on the outskirts of Tedburn and ground frozen solid.

Will there be a call for snow clearing volunteers ?

It does seem a bit early.

If Chesterfield were planning to travel down tomorrow they may find it impossible anyway.

In fact, looking at the updated forecast it seems likely that most if not all games will be cancelled at clubs without under-pitch heating.

That, but presumably done to coincide with Chesterfield's scheduled departure time.

I haven't checked the forecast for God's Own City, but up here while it's scheduled to warm up over the weekend it's a case simply of rain replacing snow. Our Exiles match on Sunday is already off (which is sod's law as I could therefore have been in hospitality at the City match assuming it's on).

Seems highly unlikely the match will go ahead now given the forecast. I bet it's called off and then things clear up on Saturday.

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
No way will that pass. The pitch is frozen. If they delay the inspection until Saturday,Chesterfield will have traveled & the club are liable for their travel expenses if its called off then.

Sensible decision. Can see a substantial snow fall by then which would be unlikely to melt in 30 hours. Might need to start thinking of alternatives for Saturday.
