Game will be off. Snow is coming down and it isn't stopping anytime soon.

Yep. Even down here in deepest, lowest St Thomas snowing and blowing with steadily increasing determination and beginning to settle - even on the main roads. Add to that temperature reported at midday (ffs) at Exeter Airport METAR station as still MINUS 4oC. Await Dr D's more professional updates with great interest.

And as Manc suggests, looking at the weather radar, plenty more to come the rest of today, and into tomorrow.

I agree with Manc that probability seems very low (unless that nice Mr Steve Evans can lend us a few of his new Posh players to come down to help clear the pitch for us )

People saying it’s too early obviously aren’t anywhere near the south west. Exmouth is pretty much cut off now and it’s under a red weather alert for at least 12 hours yet. The snow isn’t stopping any time soon and I’d guess there’s not much chance of clearing it tomorrow, or, more importantly, the surrounding area either.

Plus the travel arrangements for the opposition have to be taken into consideration too. I doubt Chesterfield are moaning that the inspection is a bit premature.

If rain was the issue then a later pitch inspection would be the norm.
Extra factors here are projected snowfall with projected low temperatures and a 'danger to life' travel warning.
Sensible to make the decision early.

However, we might not get a decision at 10am tomorrow!

Three inches and counting here in Cranbrook do not believe there is the proverbial cat in hells chance of the game being played. Pitch likely to be well covered in snow by 11 a.m tomorrow but really the condition of our pitch will probably be irrelevant given the conditions elsewhere in the UK not least the Peak District and the travel problems which the Spirites and their fans would be likely to encounter.

Another game to catch up but probably will not count as a game in hand as likely most, particularly in Leagues One and Two, will also be postponed.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/43242648 seems some are already being called off

Southend asking fans to turn up at 8am to help clear their pitch.

Even if by some miracle the pitch could be playable, the surrounding areas will be pretty treacherous so I am fully expecting a postponement.

    Moore games in hand. Woo.

Looking at the photos the club posted on Facebook I’m not sure that the pitch covers have actually been used??
