One of my disappointments travelling around continental Europe is the lack of sausages for breakfast. Though I enjoy the buffet breakfasts it's difficult to make them look like an English breakfast!

Was given supermarket sliced bread for my toast in a B &B once. Never went back there again !

On the subject of toast those conveyor belt type of toasters you get in some hotels are bloody brilliant.

Pain in the neck hanging around for your toast only to find out that someone has turned it up so it comes out almost burnt or someone has turned it down so it comes out almost the same colour that it went in.

Why is that> Jason. Any idea?

Can take ages to heat up, though, if you're first in the queue

No idea, although when purchasing sausages for home I don't tend to go for premium products, so the proper stuff may be better.

Never been a fan of the grilled tomato, mainly because most places don't seem to make a decent job of it and it's often still cold and hard in the middle. I'd also be quite happy with toast instead of a fried slice which can be little more than a fat soaked sponge. Tasty, mind.

Black pudding is essential and i like my bacon reasonably well done please.

Is the correct answer. Those machines are a complete lottery.

It's your toastage skills that are letting you down as the conveyer type is truly a prince amongst toasters.

    Sausage
    Bacon(s)
    Beans
    Tomato
    Mushrooms
    Fried potatoes or hash browns
    Poached egg
    White toast
    Cup of tea also essential
